watfa AND the courtyard

Courtyard:
Is an urban art exhibition that aims to support self expression by showcasing the work of local artists.
And the last exhibition my video(AWARENESS PROMO ) was exhibited there on the 28th of september till today, I know I'm a bit late but i was busy with my senior year, and I wanted to share the exhibition experience with images on that day.

A very Yemeni hand gesture that you'll never see anyone does it but a YEMENI ..
(ماشي) means NO in a yemeni accent and yes in an Egyptian accent  (just imagine how a conversation between a yemeni and an Egyptian would go ) I'm sure it would go for hours LOL.

I remember when I ask my mom anything ... I get this answer with the hand ماااااااشي

I was just trying to practice how it works and this what I ended up doing ..

SLIMMING TEA PACKAGING PRJECT ...

We had to repackage a tea product where it suits, the target audience and it grabs the attention from the shelf in the market ...
And this is my tea package with the designed tea bags ..

the package itself has the curved corners which indicates 

the slimming factor 

the tea bags were designed to pull it before using it, and for that you 

make the shirt looks slimmer, and thats what happen when you drink the tea ..

23 september , national day

معرض السلام في بيت نصيف في البلد 

some designers and I participated in an historical exhibition called (the Messengers of Peace)sponsored by Prince Faisal bin Abdullah, Minister of Education in the Kingdom.At nassief's house in balad (jeddah) for boys scouts from over the world, to show them the historical paths of saudi arabia and their people, to project their goal of spreading peace in this nation.


 each designer was responsible of one floor. And I was responsible of the ground floor (Jeddah's families and their history),we worked for this exhibition in very short time  and it turned out great.

لا تبرطم/يــــش

I decided to share my yemeni accent (لهجه) with the world .I have a big family mashalla and we still speak the original accent till this day ,most of the people wont get it but they are fascinated by it . يمنـ /ـيـش is my new thing ,where I share the words that inspire me and give the practical meanings for it. Lets start with this post: (لا تبوّزي ) = (لا تِبَرطِميش) in Hejazzi accent It came from the word (برطم)= (فم) and the (يش) is the Yemeni's accent part so, ابتسمي و لا تبرطميش .

طال لسانك ؟

كبده البلد .. (old Jeddah )

This year I went to old jeddah in ramadan as everyone did. Its an amazing place to visit in ramadan , you will feel the ramadan atmosphere from the lights , the ramadan fabrics and obviously THE KEBDAH. what I noticed is there is a fantastic competition between the kebda sellers and the ballela's (البليله), and for sure as any marketeers they start with an amazing slogans to sell their products if i may say :P.

while I was eating the ballila the kebda guys saw me and he got pissed and immediately he through this amazing line (that any advertising agency will love to have HAHA but no one can beat the natural talents)

he said : سيبك من البليلة وكل الكبده 

:الكبده

 تشد الظهر 

تقوي البصر 

تطول الشعر

and it worked cuz I memorized the line he said in less than 10 sec

while I was surfing the internet I stumbled on this amazing syrian artist( Sabhan adam ).
Sabhan Adam is a Syrian artist breaks all the traditional meanings of beauty,the way he's showing his misshaped creatures makes you remove all the limitations of our own judgments of beauty in others and in our selves . check some of his work and this is his website : http://www.sabhanadam.com/
